Alternatively, if you require assistance contact our technical sales team whose experience will ensure solutions to fit your application. Ashfield Springs has long been known as the company that is there when you need us. Within our vast capacity, if it can be made, we will make it.

Listed below is the information we would require to make your compression springs. If you submit what you know we can do the rest!

  1. Wire diameter (there is a direct relationship between wire size and strength.)
  2. Outside diameter of the spring (as diameter increases, spring strength increases.)
  3. Free length (this is usually the size given for spring design. It demonstrates how long the spring will be fully relaxed. We can work out the solid length and length at any given load if needed.)
  4. Rate (How much force in pounds per inch to compress the spring. We can calculate this for you as a result of the information you submit. Alternatively, it can be the starting point for your spring design.)
  5. Number of coils (This refers only to active coils. The number of coils is inversely proportional to the rate of the spring. Coils that have been closed or ground are rendered inactive under a given force.)
  6. Spring wire material (We can source all materials as requested including Carbon, Stainless, Silicon Chrome, Chrome Vanadium and Copper Alloys.)
  7. Solid Height
  8. Helix direction (a spring is coiled either left or right handed depending on the set up of the machine. If it has to fit an application, or nest on another spring handedness is important.)
  9. End treatment (Open, closed or closed and ground.)

We have extensive experience in the production of die and flat compression springs for our customers. Please contact us for more information.
