Ashfield Springs manufactures precision wire forms to customer specifications from our purpose-built facility in Nottinghamshire. Wire forms are bespoke components produced by bending, forming and shaping wire into functional shapes that cannot be achieved through standard spring coiling alone. They are used across a wide range of applications where a custom metal form is needed to retain, guide, clip, support or connect other components.
We manufacture wireforms from wire diameters of 0.1mm to 8.00mm in carbon steel, mild steel and stainless steel, with a range of protective and decorative finishes available. Our in-house capability means no unnecessary delays and full control over quality and lead time.
Wireform Applications: Clips, Hooks, Retaining Forms and Custom Assemblies
Wire forms are shaped metal components produced from round or profiled wire, designed to perform a structural or functional role within an assembly rather than primarily store energy. Typical applications include retaining clips, wire clips, grips, frame components, contact arms, hooks and custom brackets. The wire cross-section, the alloy selected, and the finish applied are all determined by the performance requirements of your application.

Every wire form we produce is made to your drawing or sample. Our experienced team works with a wide range of wire cross-sections and materials, and our modern CNC wire-forming equipment gives us the flexibility to produce highly complex geometries with consistent accuracy. Finishes include zinc plating, delta tone, delta seal and other protective or decorative coatings. Springs and wire forms can be supplied shot-peened or vibratory-deburred, where the application requires it. Our ability to offer the right finish for the right environment is an important part of the service we provide to procurement teams and engineers alike.

We manufacture wire forms in flexible batch sizes to suit your programme, from initial prototypes and approval samples through to long-term production contracts. Lead times are typically 10 to 15 working days for custom designs, with urgent requirements often completed considerably faster. We can provide reliable lead-time commitments and respond quickly when your schedule changes.
